On Saturday morning, a multi-vehicle accident led to traffic backups in Baton Rouge.
As per the initial information, the seven-vehicle pile-up took place on the East side slope of the Mississippi River Bridge. The early reports showed that six cars and an 18-wheeler were involved in the wreck. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the crash.
Traffic was shut down from the left lane in the area. Congestion was backed up 7 miles in length, officials reported. The events that have led up to the collision remain unclear. No other details are immediately available.
