Three people injured after an SUV slammed into a power pole south of Maple Valley (Maple Valley, WA)

On Wednesday morning, 3 people sustained injuries after an SUV slammed into a power pole south of Maple Valley, emergency officials said.

Deputies and medics quickly responded to the crash scene, in the 31000 block of Maple Valley Black Diamond Road, at about 9 a.m. after receiving information of a serious crash. On arrival, they found a wrecked SUV and three injured people. Medics took two people to the hospital while one person was flown to Harborview Medical Center.

The power pole was damaged due to the collision and utility crews arrived at the scene to repair it. The highway is shut down at the scene while the accident is cleared. Authorities have not provided any other details regarding the wreck and the identities of the injured persons remain undisclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
