On Wednesday morning, a single-car crash in Castaic led to the brief closure of the Old Road.
At around 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, emergency responders got information of a car that has slammed into a pole near the intersection of Parker and The Old Roads in Castaic, as per Charisma Murillo, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We arrived at the scene at 10:39 for a vehicle vs. pole,” Murillo said. “No ambulance aid was required.” A guidewire from the power pole was brought down and onto the roadway, resulting in the shutdown of the road out of caution, according to CHP incident logs.
No power outages were reported to Southern California Edison as of 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. The southbound side of The Old Road was blocked at Boulder Street for an unknown duration due to the crash.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
