The Phoenix Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday. The accident occurred in the area of 30th Street and Greenway Road just after 8:00 a.m.
According to the officials, a pickup truck was headed south when it failed to stop at a stop sign and ended the eastbound lanes while going west. This caused it to collide with an eastbound vehicle consisting of a family of two adults and five juvenile children.
The family was taken to a hospital with major injuries where one of the five juvenile children succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested with multiple charges including manslaughter and DUI. His identity is not yet known.
The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time.
