Suspected intoxicated driver hit an ambulance, hospitalizing four people (San Antonio, TX)

A suspected intoxicated driver crashed into an ambulance, hospitalizing four people on Monday morning, San Antonio police said.

As per police, the ambulance was going on Culebra Road when a silver sedan turned into the path of ambulance at the Les Harrison Drive intersection. The sedan collided with the emergency vehicle on the front driver’s side, propelling the ambulance to jump the media and slam into a fence on Easterling.

The ambulance was shifting an elderly woman to the hospital for a medical concern.

Emergency crews rushed the two EMS staff members as well as a man and a woman inside the sedan to University Hospital. Moreover, another ambulance moved the elderly woman to the hospital. None of the victims suffered major injuries.

Police believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. It is unclear whether the man or the woman was steering the sedan. Also, police have not yet determined as to who will face charges.
