Snowy morning in Elko County, accidents reported on I-80 (Carlin, NV)

Snowy weather has created unsafe driving conditions on most Elko County highways on Monday morning as there are reports of three accidents on I-80.

NHP reported an accident east of the Carlin Tunnels and two on Emigrant Pass, one of them suffered injuries.

Another injury crash took place on U.S. Highway 93 near Wells at around 7:30 a.m.
Additionally, chains or snow tires were required over the summit west of Carlin.

Snow was sticking to parts of Lamoille Highway between Elko and Spring Creek. However, there were no reports of an accidents as of 7 a.m.

Also, there is a winter weather advisory for Northern and southwestern Elko County until 10 a.m. Monday. The forecast calls for a lesser chance of snow showers into Monday night and snow likely again on Tuesday.

Temperatures in the highs in the Elko area will remain in the mid-40s on Monday and upper 30s on Tuesday.
