A car driver fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended Kennewick school bus on Wednesday morning, but no children on board a Kennewick School bus was hurt.
The incident occurred near Hawthorne Elementary at around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Hood Avenue and Neel Street. About 20 students were on board the bus at the time of collision. Medics promptly responded to the scene to check for injuries as a precaution, but no one involved in the crash was injured. Police tell that a passenger car could not stop and hit the rear end of the bus.
An investigation is underway.
