The Lubbock Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday early morning. The crash happened on the 7000 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway at around 1:28 a.m.
An SUV driven by 46-year-old George Wallace struck a minivan driven by 23-year-old Xavier Caballero head-on while it was traveling east in the right lane of the 7000 block of the motorway. Wallace and Caballero were both declared dead at the scene.
The passengers of the minivan included the front-seat passenger, 21-year-old Melodi Boivin, who was also declared dead at the scene. When the collision occurred, both kids were strapped into car seats. They were taken to University Medical Centre, where they were both later declared dead.
Xavier Caballero, 23, Melodie Boivin, 21, Marcellus Boivin, 2, and Lezlie Caballero, 1, were among the victims. A GoFundMe claims that Melodie’s unborn child died in the fatal crash as well.
