On Monday afternoon, several people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 40 East in Nashville.
As per the initial information, the 12-vehicle pile-up took place near mile marker 202. The preliminary investigation showed that a dump truck carrying gravel rolled over, leaving the material on the road. According to the officials, a bus driver, monitor, and student were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
None of them suffered any serious injuries as a result of the accident. The district stated that it was a special education bus from Harris-Hillman. Reports further added that four other victims were taken from the scene to the hospital; however, none of them was in critical condition. No other details were provided.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
