The San Antonio Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday. The accident happened on East Crockett/ Onslow at around 8:35 p.m.
According to officials, the UP Engineer and Conductor were moving northward along the track when they noticed a nearby object. They made an effort to stop the train, but they were unable to do so in time.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene after incurring fatal injuries. The victim was found after a search under the train.
The San Antonio Fire Department was able to rescue the man from underneath the Union Pacific Train, but they were unable to provide medical attention.
The fatal crash is being investigated. Other details regarding the crash are not available currently.
