Semi-truck driver dies after experiencing a medical emergency on I-90 (North Bend, WA)

On Friday morning, the driver of a semi-truck lost their life after experiencing a “medical episode” on I-90, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The fatal truck crash took place just before 2 a.m. near milepost 43 in North Bend. The semi-truck went about 100 feet off westbound Interstate 90 and into a group of trees in a ditch. On arrival, authorities declared the driver dead. WSP Trooper Rick Johnson said that the passenger in the semi-truck had bumps and bruises as a result the crash.

Tow trucks arrived on the scene for the cleanup. Johnson said that it “will be a long term recovery effort” to free the truck. As of now, no other details are available regarding the wreck. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time.

An investigation is continuing.
