The Wharton County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred on Highway 59, near County Road 221, at around 8:15 p.m.
According to the officials, three vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2003 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling north on the highway when it struck the back of a crane truck. The Trailblazer came to a stop in the fast lane when it was hit by a 2013 Kenworth truck tractor.
One person in the Trailblazer was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as Roy Spradley of Boling. They have not disclosed any details regarding the other vehicles involved.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
