The Washington State Patrol reported a two-vehicle crash on Sunday early morning in Yakima. 

According to a Washington State Patrol news release, at around 1:40 in the morning, Christian E. Suarez, 26, of Union Gap, was driving a westbound 2019 Ford F250 while Robert J. Sweowat was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-82 in a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup when the two cars collided.  

Suarez was taken to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital while Sweowat passed away at the scene.

It is unsure what caused the crash and how it happened. Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found. The fatal collision is being investigated by the officials.
