Power disrupted after a vehicle crashes into utility poles in Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge, LA)

On Friday morning, a vehicle slammed into utility poles in Baton Rouge.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place near the intersection of South Foster Drive and Government Street. The early reports showed that a car struck utility poles, breaking two poles and bringing down wires. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the collision.

Nearly 100 Entergy customers were left without power due to downed power lines. According to Entergy’s outage map, as of 6:30 a.m., 91 customers have been affected. Officials stated that restoration will take some time. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
