A fatal crash claimed life of a pedestrian on I-15 south of the Las Vegas valley on Sunday, as per the Nevada Highway Patrol.
NHP received information regarding a crash just after 10:45 a.m. on northbound I-15 near mile marker 7. A blue Kia Soul was stopped in the left shoulder of southbound I-15. One of the passengers left the car and walked towards the northbound side of the interstate to retrieve some belongings.
While in the left-hand travel lane, a white Honda C-RV fatally struck the man. Afterwards, Medical personnel declared him deceased at the scene. The driver of the Honda is assisting investigators. Additionally, authorities did not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash.
Later, officials blocked the left-hand travel lane on northbound I-15 for the investigation. Furthermore, the affected road will remain closed until about 3 p.m.
