Pedestrian dead after being hit by a motorcycle on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica (Santa Monica, CA)

A pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a motorcycle Tuesday morning on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash was first reported just after 3:30 a.m. near the Cloverfield Boulevard on-ramp of the 10 FWY. The early reports showed that a motorcyclist hit a pedestrian who was on the road.

One person was declared dead at the scene by the responding officers. Investigators later revealed that the deceased person was the pedestrian, who was reportedly trying to cross the freeway on foot. Officials believe that other drivers also struck the pedestrian’s body, but stayed at the scene.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital with major injuries. Drivers were advised to avoid the area after CHP officers announced a Sig alert for all lanes of the freeway for at least an hour. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
