On Saturday, a traffic accident on the 14 Freeway left at least one person in hospital.

As per the initial information, authorities got reports of a rollover accident at about 12:37 p.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway at Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita.  Two paramedic units arrived at the crash scene. The preliminary reports showed that there were possible entrapments as a result of the crash. As of 1:10 p.m., at least one person was shifted to the hospital with trauma injuries.

It is unknown how many people in total were hospitalized and what is the extent of those injuries. On arrival, first responders found one passenger lying down on the embankment next to the overturned vehicle that reportedly collided with a light pole. The exposed wires from the light pole pose an “immediate hazard” to the public and traffic has been closed as a result, while crews work at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under review.
