One person was rescued after a box truck collided with a small vehicle on Northwest Side.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 2:30 a.m. Monday on NW Loop 410 and Cherry Ridge. The early reports showed that a box truck slammed into the back of the vehicle and flipped on its side on the main lanes of the highway.
On arrival, firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life to extricate a driver pinned in a vehicle following the accident. The driver of the box truck incurred only minimal injuries. It is unclear if either of the two drivers required hospitalization. The westbound lanes were closed during the investigation and cleanup. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
