One person killed after a crash on U.S. 69, involving an ambulance (Greenville, TX)

On Wednesday evening, one person was killed after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 69 in Hunt County.

Highway Patrol Troopers actively responded to U.S. 69, north of Greenville at about 7 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a major accident. The preliminary reports showed that a rock-hauler trailer-truck was backing up across two lanes of traffic along U.S. 69 when a UT Health East Texas EMS vehicle heading southbound collided with the trailer truck.

The ambulance driver died as a result of the collision. The passenger of the ambulance was taken to UT Health of East Texas in stable condition. On the other hand, the driver of the trailer truck remained unharmed in the accident. No other details were provided.

The crash remains under active review.
