On Wednesday evening, a two-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway north of Castaic left one person in hospital.
As per the initial information, Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, emergency crews actively responded to the northbound 5 Freeway near the Lower Crossover just north of Castaic after getting reports of a traffic collision in which a semi-truck and another vehicle were involved.
According to an official, there was a transport and a gas line spillage. Crews are being dispatched for the clean-up. The early reports showed that at least 20 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled close to the center divider chrome. The reports also revealed that the “Military Truck” was involved in the crash. Hazmat teams were requested to the scene to handle the spillage. No information is available on the condition of the injured victim.
An investigation is underway.
