One person died after a vehicle went off the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley and flipped multiple times before ending up in a ditch.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident was reported at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the eastbound 60 near the Country Village Road exit ramp. The preliminary reports showed that a 2004 Toyota Solara swerved off the freeway for unknown reasons and flipped before rolling several times. The car finally came to a stop on an embankment.
CHP officers arrived at the location within a few minutes, but could not immediately find the motorist — only the significantly damaged Toyota. The reports also revealed that the driver walked away from the scene sometime after the accident.
A search of the surrounding area led to the discovery of the victim, whose identity was not released. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The incident did not cause any other injuries. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
