One person dead following an auto-pedestrian collision in Pasadena (Pasadena, CA)

One person was killed after getting hit by a car Wednesday night in Pasadena.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place in the area of Orange Grove Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue just before 7 p.m. Officers actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found an unconscious man lying in the street and in very serious condition.

The man was rushed to a local hospital, but was reported deceased shortly after his arrival. The incident was initially reported as a “hit and run” collision, but the car’s driver apparently simply had driven to the closest safe parking spot before stopping and had not actually left the scene.

Officers located the car and driver a short distance away. He was detained for driving without a license. Alcohol did not seem to be involved in the collision. No other information is available.

An investigation is continuing.
