On Monday afternoon, a man lost his life after being run down by a VIA bus, according to VIA Metropolitan Transit.
Just after 1:30 p.m., a VIA bus was exiting the bus stop at Commerce Street and Walter Street when a person started to chase the bus and tap on its side, officials said. While he was running, he slipped and fell under the bus’s rear tires.
The San Antonio Police Department said the victim died as a result of the incident. At this time, authorities have not provided any other information about the accident and the identity of deceased has not been released.
An investigation is underway.
