One dead and several others injured following a two-vehicle crash on Freeway in Lynwood (Lynwood, CA)

One person died and five other people received injuries after a traffic collision Saturday morning on the eastbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway in Lynwood.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place on the eastbound freeway, just east of Long Beach Boulevard and was reported to the CHP at 5:38 a.m. Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the scene at 5:40 a.m. On arrival, first responders took five people to area hospitals while one person was declared deceased at the scene.

A Sig Alert was announced at 6:10 a.m. that blocked the carpool and No. 1 lanes of the eastbound freeway at Long Beach Boulevard for about two hours, and was canceled at around 10:30 a.m. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
