Authorities identified Xane Johnson, of Westlake, and Ty Prudhomme, from Sulphur, as the victims who lost their lives following single-vehicle accident Saturday on I-10 near Sulphur.
The fatal car crash took place on I-10 near the City Service exit in Sulphur at about 2:43 a.m. According to the investigation reports, a 2020 Kia Rio, driven by Xane Johnson, drifted off the road while going west and hit a tree.
Due to the impact, the vehicle got engulfed in flames while Johnson and his passenger, Ty Prudhomme were still inside. On arrival, firefighters put out the fire. Johnson and Prudhomme were both declared deceased at the scene by the officials. No other details are made available.
An investigation continues.
