Officials identified 89-year-old John N Jasper who died in a two-vehicle crash on Macon Road (Columbus, GA)

On Tuesday morning, 89-year-old John N Jasper, of Columbus, lost his life when a tractor-trailer truck “T-boned” his car on Macon Road, the coroner confirmed.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan named the victim as 89-year-old John N Jasper, who was declared deceased at 10:05 a.m. Bryan stated that Jasper was turning from Woodhaven Drive onto Macon Road when he reportedly “froze” as the eastbound truck approached, and the front of the truck collided with the side of Jasper’s small coupe.

Jasper lived in the neighborhood, the coroner mentioned. He added that the truck driver remained uninjured in the crash. Bryan concluded that he was notified of the crash at 9:35 a.m. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
