Officials identified 66-year-old Lydia Aronce who died after a pedestrian crash on Jackson Street (Hayward, CA)

Authorities identified 66-year-old Lydia Aronce, of Hayward, as the woman who lost her life after getting hit by a vehicle on Jackson Street.

Officers actively responded to the intersection of Jackson Street and Tarman Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. According to the investigation reports, a vehicle hit Lydia Aronce for reasons that are yet to be known.

She suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with the officers. No other details have been provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
