Officials identified 60-year-old James Gamble who died after a flying BMW lands on his vehicle (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 60-year-old James Gamble, of Tennessee, as the man who died on early Saturday morning when a BMW driven by a man suspected of drunken driving went flying and landed on the roof of his car.

Authorities confirmed that James Gamble, 60, of Madison, lost his life in the Hermitage neighborhood of Nashville at around 2:30 a.m. The initial reports revealed that 20-year-old Ethan Harris, of Old Hickory, was driving the BMW when it veered off the road after colliding with a concrete barrier, struck a fence, went flying and ended up landing on Gamble’s vehicle.

Gamble was declared deceased at the scene by the official’s. Police mentioned that Harris smelled of alcohol and displayed signs of impairment. Harris was transported to an area hospital and was treated for non-fatal injuries. Harris was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication. Bail was set at $40,000.

The crash remains under active review.
