Officials identified 53-year-old James Belcher who died after an auto-pedestrian crash in Wyoming (Wyoming, MI)

Officials identified 53-year-old James Belcher, of Kentwood, as the man who lost his life after getting struck by a semi-tractor trailer Monday in Wyoming.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 8 p.m. on 54th Street and South Division Avenue in Wyoming. The investigation reports showed that the victim was walking south across 54th Street, in the crosswalk, when he was hit by the eastbound car hauler.

It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the collision. It is also unclear if any charges will be filed against the motorist. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
