Authorities identified 47-year-old Bobby Raines Jr., from Ashland City, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision Wednesday night in Nashville.
The fatal car crash took place at the intersection of Ashland City Highway and Old Hickory Boulevard. According to the investigation reports, Bobby Raines Jr. was driving a Hyundai Hatchback at a high rate of speed westbound on Ashland City Highway. For unknown reasons, his car crashed into a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Terry Bohanon, of Fackler, Alabama.
Reports further added that Bohannon was turning left onto Old Hickory Boulevard when the accident happened. Raines succumbed to his injuries at the scene. On the other hand, his passenger, 42-year-old Jason Clouse was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-fatal injuries. He was not buckled up at the time of the crash.
Bohanan was also transported to Vanderbilt with non-life-threatening injuries. There was no proof of drug or alcohol impairment at the scene. According to the officials, excessive speed on the part of Raines seemed to have contributed to the accident. No further details were provided.
The crash remains under review.
