Officials identified 44-year-old Kenneth Ripley who died after a rollover crash in L’Anse Township (L’Anse Township, MI)

Authorities identified 44-year-old Kenneth Ripley who lost his life following a rollover crash on Friday in L’Anse Township.

Officers actively responded to the area of Dynamite Hill Road close to Pinery Road in L’Anse Township at about 10:15 p.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. According to the reports, Kenneth Ripley, of L’Anse, was going west on Dynamite Hill Road when he failed to maintain control of his vehicle and was unable to make the curve in the road. As a result of which the vehicle fell sideways into the ditch where it overturned.

Ripley was not reportedly wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Alcohol and speed are believed to be involved in the collision. L’Anse Village Police Department, Bay Ambulance and Dynamite Towing provided help at the scene.

An investigation is continuing.
