On Wednesday, officials revealed the name of 43-year-old David Adji Artinian, a resident of Pasadena, who lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. on the westbound 210 Freeway, just west of Mountain Street, in Pasadena. The initial investigation showed that Artinian was driving a 2016 Scion Sedan that crashed into a big rig from behind. The car was heading at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the big rig which was going at about 55 mph in the No. 5 lane.
On arrival, emergency crews declared Artinian deceased. A 35-year-old Washington man who was driving the big rig remained uninjured. The cause of the fatal crash remains unknown at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
