Officials identified 43-year-old Daniel Woodward who died after a crash in Loudon County (Loudon County, TN)

Authorities identified 43-year-old Daniel Woodward, of Knoxville, as the man who lost his life following a multi-vehicle wreck Monday evening on Interstate 75.

The fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place on I-75 near mile marker 78. According to the investigation reports, three vehicles, including two Jeeps and a semi-truck were involved in the accident. The vehicles were heading north on Interstate 75 near mile marker 78 when the driver of a 1994 Jeep Wrangler, identified as Daniel Woodward, ran his Jeep off the roadside left and re-entered the roadway and collided with a 2021 Jeep Gladiator, driven by a 54-year-old Knoxville man.

The semi-truck, driven by a Georgia man, also crashed into the Jeep Gladiator, causing the Jeep Wrangler to roll over. All three vehicles came to an uncontrolled stop in the roadway. Woodward suffered major injuries and was declared dead by the officials. He was not buckled up at the time of the accident. The drivers of the Jeep Gladiator and semi-truck were wearing their seatbelts. No other details are available.

An investigation continues.
