Officials identified 36-year-old Danielle Strain-Thompson who died in a pedestrian accident (Port Orchard, WA)

Authorities identified 36-year-old Danielle Strain-Thompson, of Quilcene, as the woman who lost her life after getting struck by a vehicle on Dec. 15 in Port Orchard.

The fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at around 6:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Bay Street, near the Blue Goose Tavern. According to the investigation reports, a vehicle hit Strain-Thompson for reasons that are yet to be known. Speed and impairment are not believed to have contributed to the accident.

No criminal charges were filed against the driver. The victim got first aid and chest compressions by first responders who arrived at the scene, but the woman was declared dead shortly after. Multiple agencies provided assistance at the scene. No other information has been released by the officials.

An investigation continues.
