Crowley Police identified 32-year-old Leon Lamarcus Horhn who died after a wreck Thursday morning on I-10 at Crowley that also caused injuries to two others.
The interstate was shut down at about 8 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the multi-vehicle pile-up took place as a vehicle heading eastbound hit their brakes and slid into the guardrail. A westbound pickup truck then collided with the cab of the 18-wheeler, claiming the life of the 18-wheeler’s driver. 32-year-old Leon Lamarcus Horhn of Houston, Texas, died in the wreck. The pickup truck and an SUV were also hit in the accident. Authorities reported that a total of five vehicles were involved in the collision.
Blood samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. Two others who received serious injuries were rushed to area hospitals. I-10 remained closed for more than seven hours during investigation and cleanup.
An investigation continues.
