Officials identified 32-year-old Kendra Earlene Sims who died after a pedestrian crash on Telegraph Road (Pontiac, MI)

Authorities identified 32-year-old Kendra Earlene Sims, as the Detroit woman, who lost her life Thursday evening following a traffic collision on Telegraph Road in Pontiac.

The fatal pedestrian accident took place just before 6 p.m. on Telegraph Road near Voorheis. Kendra Earlene Sims got hit by a northbound vehicle. The driver informed the officers that he was going northbound with the flow of traffic on Telegraph Road when the woman walked in front of his vehicle in a non-crosswalk area.

On arrival, medics took the pedestrian to McLaren Oakland via Star EMS where she was later declared dead. The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene after the accident. An autopsy will be conducted on Friday, officials mentioned.

An investigation continues.
