Authorities identified 31-year-old Jarlen Droutsas Giacona, of Austin, as the man who lost his life following a rollover crash Thursday in New Braunfels.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place in the 600 block of southbound I-35 at around 9:57 p.m. The driver was trying to get on I-35 in New Braunfels when the incident happened.
The preliminary reports showed that the driver of a 2004 Honda Civic failed to properly negotiate the curve from the I-35 frontage road onto I-35, causing the vehicle to enter the grassy median and flip over several times.
Due to the impact, the driver was thrown from the vehicle. Despite the lifesaving efforts by paramedics, the driver died. The motorist has since been identified as 31-year-old Jarlen Droutsas Giacona of Austin. The reports also revealed that speed contributed to the crash. No other information is available.
An investigation is ongoing.
