Officials identified 27-year-old Danny Silva who died after a wrong-way crash on 10 Freeway (Los Angeles, CA)

Officials identified 27-year-old Danny Silva who was killed following a wrong-way crash Saturday on 10 Freeway.

As per the initial information, the crews actively responded to the eastbound freeway, west of La Cienega Boulevard after getting reports of a head-on collision at 4:25 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that Silva was driving a westbound white 2018 Mazda MX5 Miata roadster in eastbound lanes.

The reports further revealed that his vehicle went directly toward a black 2012 Infinity EX35 SUV driven by a 54-year-old Los Angeles man. At that point of time, the SUV driver veered to the right to avoid the roadster, but still ended up colliding with the Silva’s car head-on.

Silva succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The SUV driver received moderate injuries. Reports also stated that both Silva and the other driver were the only occupants of their vehicles. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
