Officials identified 25-year-old Ryan Myerssias who died after a crash on Highway 99 West (Red Bluff, CA)

Officials identified 25-year-old Ryan Myerssias, of Gerber, as the man who lost his life following a head-on collision Wednesday on Highway 99 West.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle accident took place at around 12:40 p.m. on Highway 99 West near the Red Bluff Walmart Distribution Center. The preliminary reports showed that 56-year-old Charles Williams of Ramona was driving a semi-truck south on Highway 99 West at 40 mph.

At that point of time, 25-year-old Ryan Myerssias was traveling north on Highway 99 west at an unknown speed. For an undetermined reason, one of the drivers drove across the divider line, resulting in the head-on collision. Myerssias died of his injuries at the scene. It is unknown if the incident caused any other injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
