Authorities identified 23-year-old Daniel Rims as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday in Chula Vista.
The fatal auto-pedestrian collision happened a little before 9 a.m. at the intersection of 5th Avenue and C Street. The preliminary reports showed that a 40-year female driver going westbound on C Street struck Rims.
Daniel Rims received major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be involved in the accident. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
