Officials identified 21-year-old Alex Flores Rosales, of Burlington, as the man who lost his life after he slammed his car into the back of a Semi Truck and Trailer Saturday while attempting to flee a previously attempted traffic stop.
As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place on Burlington Boulevard. The preliminary reports showed that Alex Flores Rosales was heading northbound on Burlington Boulevard in an orange 2015 Ford Mustang at about 2:18 a.m. on January 29th, 2022.
The reports further revealed that Flores Rosales was going at a high rate of speed after fleeing from a previously attempted traffic stop by the Washington State Patrol and his Mustang rear-ended a Kenworth T680 Semi Truck hauling a 2016 Fonta Flatbed Trailer near Cascade Mall Drive. The Mustang came to a stop on the Southbound Sidewalk.
Flores Rosales was not buckled up at the time of the accident. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The semi-truck was being driven by 60-year-old Nikolay B Zhekovski of Vernon, Washington. The Mustang was wrecked and the semi-truck and Trailer had reportable damage in the collision. It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash. No other information is available.
An investigation is ongoing.
