Officials identified 19-year-old Logan Moran who died in a car crash on I-580 last weekend (Oakland, CA)

Authorities identified 19-year-old Logan Moran, of Los Angeles, as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision on a freeway in Oakland last weekend.

As per the investigation reports, the fatal car accident took place on westbound Interstate 580, east of 14th Street. The reports further revealed that Moran was driving a Toyota Scion that struck the back of a Ford Escape at around 6:45 a.m. Due to the impact, the Scion spun toward the right shoulder and struck the overcrossing cement abutment. He died at the scene.

The CHP confirmed that Moran was speeding when the incident happened. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy with toxicology tests. The results will come in several weeks which will confirm whether Moran was impaired or not. No other details are available.

An investigation continues.
