According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Collin County.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. The deceased officer was identified as Detention Officer Benjamin Held.
Officer Benjamin was involved in a car crash while off duty. He was rushed to a hospital sustaining significant head trauma. He was then placed on life support, on the removal of which he passed away.
Other details pertaining to the collision remain unknown. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash continues to be investigated by the CCSO.
