The northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway were closed down following a wreck Thursday evening at US-90 in Sugar Land. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle accident took place at US-90. The early reports showed that a total of six vehicles were involved in the pile-up. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time.
Emergency crews worked to shut down the part of the freeway that had ice. The incident happened, as an arctic front moves through the area. Across Houston and surrounding areas, there were multiple reports of ice on the road. No other information is available.
An investigation is underway.
