On Tuesday night, injuries were reported after an accident involving six vehicles on Ramona Expressway and Lakeview Avenue.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the incident took place on Ramona Expressway and Lakeview Avenue at 5:20 p.m. As of now, the cause and circumstances that have resulted in the crash remain unknown.
Officials confirmed that several vehicles were significantly damaged as a result of the crash. On arrival, fire crews found five patients with minimal injuries and one with moderate injuries. Paramedics transported one patient to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.
As per initial reports, a motorist was pinned in the wreckage, but the person managed to free himself before the firefighters reached at the scene. The accident also led to the partial closure of the expressway.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
