On Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Merchant Drive.
According to the authorities, an SUV and a motorcycle were heading west on Merchant Drive when the SUV crashed into the motorcycle from behind and then struck the motorcyclist near Merchants Center Boulevard. On arrival, paramedics rushed the bike rider to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with critical injuries.
Officers asked the motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes. As of now, there are no details available about possible charges against the driver. The identity of the injured victim has not been revealed at this time.
