On Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a vehicle on Interstate 8 near Mountain Springs Road.
As per the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle-collision involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. The incident took place at about 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 8 near Mountain Springs Road and Mountain Springs County Park.
On arrival, first responders declared the motorcyclist deceased. The crash also led to the closure of all lanes of eastbound Interstate 7 at around 3:00 p.m. San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office personnel immediately responded to the scene of the incident at around 3:41 p.m. Authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
An investigation is underway.
