Motorcyclist in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash in San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)

On early Saturday morning, a 40-year-old motorcyclist suffered critical injuries following a two-vehicle collision in San Antonio.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place at about 2:40 a.m. in the 5000 block of EB Interstate 10. The preliminary investigation showed that the motorcyclist was going on Interstate 10 when a black pickup truck traveling in the same direction went onto the left shoulder to go around him.

Just then, the pickup crashed into the backside of the motorcycle, causing the man to lose control and crash. The driver of the pickup truck drove away from the scene on Interstate 10. On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the motorcycle rider to an area hospital with major injuries.

In a latest update, the man is listed in critical, but stable condition. As the pickup truck failed to stop at the scene after the collision, the driver will be charged with failure to stop and render aid, officials mentioned. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
