Minor injuries reported after a three-vehicle wreck in Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge, LA)

On Thursday morning, a multi-vehicle accident in Baton Rouge led to minor injuries.

As per the initial information, the three-vehicle wreck took place at Sharp Ln. and Old Hammond Hwy. The early reports showed that two 18-wheelers and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision.  One of the 18 wheeler’s saddle tanks cracked. BRFD HazMat Teams were called to the scene to deal with a diesel leak. Approximately 50 to 60 gallons of diesel leaked out.

Drivers were asked to use an alternative route as Sharp Lane was shut down North bound while Old Hammond Highway West bound was reduced to one lane. According to the officials, minor injuries were reported as a result of the crash. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
