According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Menifee on Tuesday. The crash happened at the intersection of Ethanac and Matthews Roads at around 3:15 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Ford Mustang and an unknown vehicle were involved in the collision. The driver of the Mustang was traveling westbound in and out of traffic lanes and struck the bus head-on while he was unable to maneuver out.
Mauricio Mendez was identified as the driver of the Mustang who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the Menifee Police Department. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
